Our laboratory studies the connections between lung tumor growth and alterations in glucose metabolism.  With a focus on non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC, the principal type of lung cancer), we investigate the molecular mechanisms that control the regulation of glucose transporters and enzymes of intermediary metabolism in tumors.  We interrogate the function of these proteins during lung tumor development.  To study these crucial components of tumors, we use a combination of genetically-engineered mouse models of NSCLC, human lung cancer cell lines, tumor tissue specimens and bioinformatics analyses.
